Memphis the Musical, the musical that took Broadway by storm, has now arrived in London. Playing at the Shaftesbury Theatre, this Tony Award-winning production is guaranteed to set the West End alight with its exhilarating music and powerful story.

Inspired by true events, Memphis is set in the 1950s, in the halls and underground clubs of Memphis, Tennessee. Here, a young white DJ falls in love with both rock ‘n’ roll and an extraordinary black singer. His determination to take this woman and her voice out into the world and onto America’s airwaves sparks a cultural revolution that changes things forever.

This highly original story of forbidden love and determined ambition is bursting with unforgettable songs and pulsating dancing. Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan brings his skills to bear to create the musical’s effervescent score, Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change) provides a crackling book and acclaimed Broadway choreographer Sergio Trujillo serves up high-octane dance routines.

Memphis features the incredible talent of Beverley Knight MBE in the leading role of Felicia and the powerful vocals of Killian Donnelly (Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, The Commitments) as love-struck DJ Huey Calhoun.

Racism, love, cultural revolution and blues, gospel and rock ‘n’ roll vibrate throughout this musical. With Memphis tickets, soul comes guaranteed.
