Jay Gatsby invites you to one of his infamous large parties. Reimagined and reset to meet COVID-Secure guidelines, the champagne continues to flow and as the drama unfolds the man himself will be the perfect host. As invites go, this is the hottest in town.
London's longest running immersive smash hit, The Great Gatsby, will be reopening its doors from September with a re-imagined and re-set the production as an Art Deco Masquerade Ball, with audience members wearing compulsory face coverings and gloves to complement their fabulous attire. The production will re-open at its home, Immersive|LDN, just off Bond Street.
The capacity of the venue will be significantly reduced to help patrons – coming as individuals or in household groups – to keep a safe distance from others; and the nature of the show means that audience members can choose where they stand and move throughout the performance, naturally enabling social distancing. The show content is being altered and updated to avoid any activity that would be considered high risk, and the actors will be further trained to keep groups of audience following the story, whilst remaining at a safe distance.
The venue and production will be in full compliance with government COVID-Secure guidelines, temperature checks will be undertaken for audience and staff on arrival, the venue will be deep cleaned before and after every performance, bar equipment sterilised, and hand sanitisers will be available throughout the venue.
The Producers are also planning for the eventuality that the show can’t proceed, or individual patrons can’t attend, and are offering a no-questions-asked exchange policy, so that patrons can receive replacement tickets to an alternative performance, or a voucher, even if they simply change their mind about attending. These Covid-Secure policies will be under continuous review and are by no means exhaustive - any additional measures recommended will be adopted as appropriate.
Louis Hartshorn and Brian Hook said "We want something to look forward to following this extended lockdown. Our show has several inherent features that make it safer than a trip to the supermarket, so we're embracing that and innovating. Naturally, public health is the highest priority of all, and we'll proceed only when we're certain it's safe to do so. We're implementing a no-questions-asked exchange policy. If circumstances change in general or for any individual, our patrons will be fully protected. We would also like to take a moment to thank Grosvenor Estates who have been a supportive and approachable landlord during these difficult time, showing incredible commitment to the arts and culture in the face of tremendous adversity; and to our investors for their continued support".
The show was very interesting and worth to see!!! I liked that most people were dressed in 1920 glamorous style, although some people were dressed like going for a coffee which really killed the vibe. The bar was not open as all the time advertised, only twice in the entire 2 and a half hours.. Apart from that very nice
I enjoyed the event though was glad that I’d read the book in the weeks leading up to it otherwise might not have made any sense. Would have liked more music from the Jazz age though but disappointed on that front.
Good fun afternoon. Great atmosphere good drinks. Venue quite warm to partake fully in the dancing
Really different, pianist amazing, he stole the show with his talent, dancing and acting. All good fun and most unusual.
A wonderful experience. Got completely caught up in the story, great acts, great actors. Well done to the team for providing their guests with such an exclusive moment !
Loved the actor playing Nick... Talented, musical, great actor... That's about it on the PLUS side - the whole experience was rather mediocre, from reception to bar, setting, following the storyline, having audience engaged... Good to have a change in shape of actors walking around and acting in various parts of this function-room type hall. But the acting is weak, characters only appeal if you know the storyline, easy to miss seeing the action in other areas. Expensive bar with poor choice of drinks, no seating. Would I go again? Definitely No.
Atmosphere started as soon as you walk in, even if you know the story you listen in anticipation to see what happens next. Loved the dancing was a real giggle. Actors really convenient you of the year 1922. All very good at their role . Really enjoyed well done all
A fantastic evening! Great acting and really inclusive during show. Would highly recommend.
Really enjoyed the show and the actors and actresses were great. The interactive dancing and being picked from the crowd really adds heaps to the positive experience. Really enjoyed it. Only thing I'd change, and this comes with my diversity lead that on.. the only aggressive scenes were played out by black man.. I'd share this out a bit more.. stereo typing and all that.. besides that.. amazing show, great characters, awesome experience and the hosts were great xx
Great Gatsby is wonderful interactive theatre, I had super experience. Actors are performing with passion and dedication. I saw all people around were happy. Jolanta
confused, a little disorganised. It should be more musical than theatrical. As we do not watch all the scenes, we lose the context a bit. Actors should wear a microphone on their foreheads. It was a bit without excitement and uncomfortable to stand so many hours of standing. Excuse. I love this story, the actors are great, the scenery almost perfect, but the viewers don't do their duty.
Really fantastic immersive experience. The cast are all amazing and the performance was a delight from start to finish!
We had a fabulous time being part of the show/party! Very inclusive and fun! Loved seeing most dressed in theme.
Loved this!! It’s such a relaxed immersive experience! And works really well... you’ll also be able to go multiple times and always experience different aspects of the story.
No story, very scattered, a lot of screaming, it was boring and shallow. Didn't stay until the end
The settings could be better and overall plot is a little bit slow...
The character was great.I recommend you to go with your friends or boyfriend. You gonna have fun.Don’t be shy , just follow the actor and actress, and enjoy it.It is surprise even it is different form the movie, you will get surprise when you get the end.
