Lambert Jackson Productions are proud to present Doctor Zhivago - The UK Concert Premiere starring Ramin Karimloo and Celinde Schoenmaker. Based on the Nobel Prize-winning novel by Boris Pasternak prepare to be taken on an epic journey of heart-breaking romance, following the search for love during the final days of Czarist Russia.

Raised as an aristocrat, Yurii Andreyevich Zhivago (Ramin Karimloo) is a political idealist, physician, and poet whose life is tossed by the tides of history as he is torn between a life with his close childhood friend and wife, and the passionate and mysterious Lara Guishar (Celinde Schoenmaker). Zhivago, however, is not alone in his yearnings for Lara, and must compete with both revolutionaries and aristocracy alike to win the heart of the woman he cannot live without.

Written by Academy Award nominee Michael Weller (Ragtime), the show features music by two-time Grammy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Lucy Simon. With lyrics by Tony Award nominee Michael Korie and Emmy Award nominee Amy Powers, this honoured and acclaimed team of creative visionaries originally brought this classic story to the Broadway stage in 2015. A wonderful cross between concert & musical. A very enjoyable performance which thoroughly deserved it's sell out attendance & standing ovation. For a musical needs much more movement from principal singers/actors. Needs big West End stage. Suggest it would be very successful at Coliseum. Minor personal disappointment they could not get right to use Lara Theme.

We weren't sure what to expect from this concert performance having never seen the original musical. I think we were completely hooked very quickly, the quality of the performers was outstanding and the music and lyrics memorable. I really hope that the full musical comes to London now!
